OK, THAT IS IT, I AM TAKING YOU TO MY HAPPY PLACE.

This is the day that THE LORD has made I WILL rejoice and be glad in it.
Another snow day has dawned in West Michigan.  Well I guess its hard to tell that it dawned.  This morning when the black night turned once again into a dull grey morning our news team reported that there is once again a snow day.  I will not question them.  I am just glad with all the flack you get when a snow day is called or not called that its not my job to make that decision.
I have noticed that the general mood of people in my area is, to put it mildly, negative.
So I am going to take you to my happy place(s).
This happy place was made intentionally on my part. I knew last summer I needed it for the winter months so like a good little squirrel when I saw little things that brought me happiness I gathered them and stored them here. I will give you a brief tour.

This is the windowsill above my kitchen sink.  The JOY in the middle came from my good friend Beth.  The splash of red, the word, and the person it came from make me happy.  On the right and left side of the sink are very small vases. During the summer months they usually hold the little flowers (weeds) that the kids bring to me.

Taped to the right of my sink is the picture. Taken on a most wonderful day, with some fantastic children, in a fabulous spot last summer.

This makes me giggle, though my house wasn't really clean last week either.

This was written in a moment of reflection by Jacob.
It was not a homework assignment.

Some other happy things from the Fredrick's house today...
This is our pup.  He does not seem bothered by the weather. In fact he seems quite cozy, don't you think?
SLEEPING IN!!!!

The beautiful roses I received last week are still beautiful and full of color.
Fully rested and ready to enjoy a snow day.

Who wouldn't be happy to spend the day with these beauty's?
And  the Fabulous Grace helping herself to a bath this morning.  Joy all around.  Where will you look for your joy today?

And it looks like Grace kept her PJ's on in the bath for multitasking purposes...She may be our most efficient child.

Joy in laundry detergent on sale for $3.49 with a $3.00 off coupon on top of that!

Joy in hearing that what I thought was something terribly wrong with my freezer is nothing more than a normal self-defrost cycle.

Joy in having a huge chunk of super yummy homemade chocolate cake for lunch.

Joy in taking my 13 year old grocery shopping with me. He is very helpful and we can text each other from across the store - "Where R U?" "Aisle 4. Meet me by the cheese." It's a far cry from the days when he was 2 and had tantrums so bad I had to leave the store!!
